The swelling went down enough that the doctors were able to close baby's chest this morning. Interestingly, they do it bedside because it is less stressful for baby. Baby NiNi tolerated it well. They also tightened the PA band. Bonnie got to meet the surgeon, Dr. Reddy, a world-renowned pediatric cardiac surgeon. Baby NiNi is progressing so nicely, and the doctors hope to do the arterial switch a week from today. NiNi is nice and pink with sats in the 80's. They are keeping her sedated and intubated for at least another 24 hours. In spite of the sedation, when she hears Bonnie's voice, she opens her eyes to find Bonnie. Bonnie says, "I can't say enough about the doctors and staff at the hospital, beyond wonderful. We now have to just watch and wait. Keep Baby in your prayers that she continues to do this well."
