Well, it's Saturday. We had hoped to go home yesterday, but there are a few hurdles to jump. NiNi is still needing O2- only 0.1L...but she needs it. She desatted yesterday to 82 during a room air trial, and turned blue, got sweaty and short of breath. Once back on O2, she was 98. Her surgeon came to see us, had his picture taken with Baby. He ordered an echo, just to be sure everything's ok, and it looks good. They re-checked her urine, found out she has another infection..so we are back on antibiotics. The renal team looked at her, ordered a test for Monday to see if she has bladder reflux. On the plus side, NiNi is feeding great! She takes 3-4oz every 3hrs. She is weaning off her lasix, methadone, and ativan, and tolerating it well. No withdrawal symptoms, and the chest xray looks good. She has started making babble noises and makes kissing sounds. She is a mellow kiddo, usually a happy punkin, and watching her personality emerge is priceless. Please keep her in prayers.
(OK- I LOVE that first picture. It is my favorite yet! What do you think? Gina)

She looks wonderful! We pray that you will be able to take your precious angel home soon.

ReplyDeleteThrilled to hear she is doing so well and on her way home soon. It's hard to imagine she was fighting for her life just weeks ago. While her surgery was such a tough start for mommy and baby I am sure the bonding has been enhanced by your ability to soothe her and meet her needs as she recovers. Cant wait to see you home together. Love the pics of NiNi and momma

Thanks for sharing Baby NiNi's pictures. I had a similar repair in 1976! I'm one of the "old" TGA patients. Yikes! That dates me. : ) I love, love, love to hear about TGA babies doing so well. She is absolutely adorable! Hope you can bring her HOME soon!
